Notre Dame is looking for revenge.
The last time No. 2-seeded Maryland and the 3-seed met was on Dec. 1, 2022, when the Terrapins traveled to Purcell Pavilion and defeated the Fighting Irish 74-72 on a buzzer beater.
Maryland is carried by Diamond Miller, who was named a WBCA Division I Coaches All-America finalist and named to ESPN's Top 25 list of players in the Sweet 16 as No. 4. She also hit the game-winning jumper when the two teams met in December.
This will be their 13th straight appearance, dating back to 2010, and 18th in head coach Brenda Frese's 21 seasons. They just defeated No. 7 Arizona, 77-54.
Notre Dame is coming in off a close 53-48 win over 11-seeded Mississippi State, missing respective starters Olivia Miles and Dara Mabrey due to season-ending injuries. The Fighting Irish and head coach Niele Ivey are hungry to redeem themselves after losing to NC State in the Sweet 16 in 2022.
