Villanova did it again.
The Wildcats, winners of the Big East Tournament, obtained their second national championship in the past three seasons with a convincing win over Big Ten Champion Michigan Monday night in San Antonio.

Villanova 79, Michigan 62
Villanova captures its second national championship in the last three years behind a moster performance from Most Outstanding Player sophomore Donte DiVincenzo. The 6-5 guard from Delaware scored a NCAA Tournament final record 31 points off the bench to go along with five rebounds, three assists and two blocks, holding it down for the Wildcats when SN Player of the Year Jalen Brunson went to the bench with four fouls with more than 10 minutes remaining in the second half.
Mikal Bridges added 19 in a winning effort for Villanova while Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman was Michigan's leading scorer with 23 points, followed by Moe Wagner (16) and Zavier Simpson (10).
Second half
3:51 — It's all but over Villanova Mika Bridges sinks a 3-pointer from the wing and Michigan takes its biggest lead of the game at 74-52.
10:51 — SN Player of the Year Villanova point guard Jalen Brunson picks up his fourth foul and heads to the bench. The Wildcats are up 53-40. This could be Michigan's chance to get back in the game.
12:33 — Charles Matthews sends home a two-handed slam, but Michigan still trails 53-38.

Halftime
Big East Sixth Man of the Year Donte DiVincenzo leads the way for the Villanova with 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and the Wildcats lead 37-28. Moe Wagner (11) and Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman (10) have combined for 3/4 of Michigan's points. Neither team is shootin the 3-pointer well with Villanova, knocking down 4 of 13 attempts and Michigan connecting on 2 of 13. However, Villanova is winning the rebounding battle 20-14.
