Shrouded by the MVP Arena lights in Albany, Caitlin Clark looked right at home.
The Iowa standout found the target time-and-time again, dropping 41 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds to lead the Hawkeyes to a second-straight Final Four appearance. In the process, they vanquished their purported rivals, LSU, avenging its national championship loss.
Clark was effervescent, putting together another glittering display in a season increasingly filled with them She was the game's leading scorer. She also showcased her sizable basketball IQ, routinely setting up her teammates with delicate passes deep into the paint.
She wasn't alone, though. Fellow senior Kate Martin added 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, while junior standout Sydney Affolter sank a pair of big time threes.

For the Tigers, their performance was defined largely by that of their two stars, Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson. Johnson was a force, leading the way for LSU with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting. Reese, however, struggled immensely as the game wore on. The "Bayou Barbie" dropped 12 points in the first half. She finished with 17, hitting just 7-of-21 attempts before fouling out.
Much of the controversy surrounding the contest also revolved around Kim Mulkey's baffling defensive schemes. The veteran coach's legacy is cemented as one of the greatest tacticians in the sport's history. She didn't look the part on Monday, however, opting to give undersized Hailey Van Lith the Clark assignment as compared to Johnson. Based on Clark's performance, it wasn't the correct move.
The Hawkeyes now advance to the last four, awaiting the winner of No. 1 USC vs. No. 3 UConn. Clark finds herself just two games away from placing her name alongside icons like Maya Moore, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart and Britney Griner as collegiate standouts to capture a national title.

Iowa vs. LSU final results, highlights from 2024 NCAA Women's Elite Eight game
(All times Eastern)
End of fourth quarter: Iowa 94, LSU 87
9:25 p.m.: Iowa wins! It will take place in its third Final Four appearance. The Hawkeyes will face the winner of No. 1 USC vs. No 3 UConn later tonight.
9:17 p.m.: Reese fouls out due to a contentious offensive foul call. She finishes the day with 17 points and 20 rebounds, much of which came in the first half. Could very well be her final game in the Bayou.
9:10 p.m.: Martin places a fallaway jumper into the target. The Tigers finally decided to give Johnson the Clark assignment. However, it might be too little, too late.
9:06 p.m.: Clark sinks ANOTHER triple. She's up to 37 on the night. Mulkey and the Tigers simply have no answer.

9:04 p.m.: Reese has toiled for much of the second half. Fortunately for the Tigers, Aneesah Morrow has stepped up in her stead.
8:58 p.m.: The Tigers are attempting to mount a comeback. However, Clark continues to feast on Van Lith, canning yet another triple over her undersized defender.
End of third quarter: Iowa 69, LSU 58
8:49 p.m.: Clark's playmaking continues to impress. Just completed another full-court pass to collect an assist. She's got eight so far.
8:43 p.m.: Reese has toiled for much of the third quarter. She's yet to score a bucket this period. In fact, she hasn't hit a field goal since the six-minute mark of the second quarter.
8:37 p.m.: Clark...again. She's got four triples from the parking lot tonight. This one is getting out of hand rather quickly.
8:27 p.m.: Clark starts the third quarter with a flourish, hitting three straight logo threes to put Iowa out in front. That has to be demoralizing from an LSU perspective.

Again, it's what happens off the ball to get to the ball that sticks out
Was watching Nykesha Sales yesterday for the first time and there's some big time similarity in that movement and fluidity before getting the ball pic.twitter.com/Sol6K1AgUJ
End of second quarter: LSU 45, Iowa 45
8:08 p.m.: Impressive finish from both sides, with Clark veering into the rim before dumping off to Addison O'Grady for an easy layup.
Flau'jae Johnson returns the favor by spinning through the mire and tossing a shot into the target. Tie game at half time.

8:04 p.m.: Clark is percolating as the second quarter wears on, dropping a pair of layups to push the Hawkeyes out in front.
8:03 p.m.: The game is tied up after Sydney Affolter sinks a layup. Back-and-forth contest if I've ever seen one.
7:52 p.m.: Reese is back. And she returned with a flourish, displacing Stuelke before sinking a right handed hook shot through a triple team.

Really nice finish pic.twitter.com/iyHIbhnRSs
7:49 p.m.: Reese forced out of the game after appearing to injure her ankle while attempting to swat Clark's layup. Definitely a point of concern for the Tigers.
End of first quarter: LSU 31, Iowa 26
7:41 p.m.: Tremendous rally by the Tigers, spearheaded by the effervescent Reese. She's proven to be quite the force on both ends of the floor early on. She's got 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, all on 5-of-7 shooting. Tigers lead by five to end the first.
7:37 p.m.: The stars are especially bright for this one. Both Clark and Reese are putting up impressive displays in the first quarter. After streaking beyond surveillance for back-to-back layups, she's up to 10 points and five assists. She's scored the last eight for the Tigers. And she's hyped.
7:33 p.m.: It seems that there is some confusion about LSU's defensive scheme in the opening moments. Far too much space for Clark to operate, says Aces star Kelsey Plum. One to watch as the game progresses for Mulkey and the Tigers...
Under on screens and the big is in drop. Nobody in the paint, what am I missing 🙃 https://t.co/jC5wOx2AlX

7:30 p.m.: High-level offensive play from both sides so far; the Hawkeyes are 5-of-7 from three, while the Tigers are 8-of-15 from the field.
7:25 p.m.: Iowa came out in this one like a cannon, dropping 17 points with relative ease. The three-ball has proven effective so far; the Hawkeyes have hit three of their first four three-point attempts. Kim Mulkey forced to call a timeout in an effort to stop the bleeding.

7:23 p.m.: It's been a promising start for the Hawkeyes thus far. Iowa's supporting cast has gotten involved in this one, with Gabbie Marshall, Kate Martin and Hannah Stuelke all making critical plays. Oh, and Clark has eight points early. 15-6 lead for Iowa through the opening four minutes.
7:20 p.m.: The ball is tipped off and this contest has begun!
6:50 p.m.: Angel Reese leaving her mark all across the MVP Arena floor ahead of this one. Mind games of the greatest degree here from the Baltimore native:
