Basketball fans know the name Cameron Brink. Those just picking up the sport during the NCAA Tournament should know her name, too.
Even if her career is over.
No. 2 seed Stanford lost to No. 3 NC State, 77-67, in the Sweet 16 on Friday in Portland, Oregon. Brink missed almost the entire fourth quarter, fouling out with 8:10 remaining to finish her collegiate career on the bench in her hometown.
A dominate defensive player, Brink recorded five blocks in the first half alone and finished the game with seven. She also added 13 points and nine rebounds. But she had to watch as NC State completed its massive comeback victory.

Stanford knew the Sweet 16 game would be challenging for Brink. The star also fouled out with two minutes left in the Cardinal's second-round game against Iowa State. She didn't go quietly in that game, as she seemed to mumble expletives towards the officials.

While Stanford came out with a win in its final game in Maples Pavilion in the round of 32, the Wolfpack's comeback was just about unstoppable.

Is Cameron Brink a senior?
Brink played four season for Stanford, but due to COVID-19 eligibility exceptions, she could play a fifth for the Cardinal.
The 22-year-old decided not to return, however. She declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft following the Cardinal's Pac-12 tournament run, which ended in a loss to USC in the championship.

She's not the only true senior to forego an extra year in college. Caitlin Clark and Aaliyah Edwards are other expected first-round picks to announce they will head to the pros following the NCAA Tournament.
Cameron Brink WNBA Draft projection
Brink is projected to be the No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Behind Caitlin Clark, the pick would send the Oregon native to the Los Angeles Sparks.
