Introducing your new NCAA women’s basketball scoring leader, Caitlin Clark.

The Iowa superstar turned in a historic performance in the Hawkeyes' 106-89 win over Michigan. The hometown hero scored a program-record 49 points to break Kelsey Plum’s career points record. Clark becomes the NCAA leader with 3,569 points and counting.

The record-breaking basket came just 2 minutes and 12 seconds into the game, as she scored the first eight points of the game for Iowa.The logo three-pointer is the signature Clark shot, so it’s hard to imagine a more perfect way to make history.

By the end of the first quarter, Clark had 23 points, more than Michigan’s entire team. She assisted on every point she didn’t make herself. She was unmatched, as Iowa’s celebratory newspapers proclaimed.

The star senior added 13 assists on the night for a double-double.

And she’s not done yet. Clark has four more regular season games as well as the postseason to further cement her legacy. She’s 99 points from breaking Pete Maravich’s record and becoming the all-time NCAA Division I basketball scoring leader.

10:00 p.m. – 'Nuff said.

9:56 p.m. – That's the game! The Hawkeyes get a big win and a big record in front of their home crowd.

Final: Iowa 106, Michigan 89

9:50 p.m. – History doesn't stop for Iowa's hometown hero. With her 49th point of the night, Clark sets a new career high.

9:36 p.m. – That's Clark's sixth career game with at least 40 points, five assists and five rebounds. She has 46, 11 and five, respectively, so far. 

End of third quarter: Iowa 81, Michigan 60

9:26 p.m. – That's a double-double for Clark! with her 10th assist tonight, she make sit 81-60, all Hawkeyes, at the end of the third.

9:15 p.m. – There's 3:34 on the clock in the third. Clark's scored just eight points this quarter, but the Hawkeyes show no sign of slowing down. They lead Michigan by 17.

9:01 p.m. – It's hard to dislike Clark. After making history, she's focused on what's ahead – the second half of the game.

Halftime: Iowa 53, Michigan 41

8:42 p.m. – That's the half. The Hawkeyes hold onto the lead, but Michigan isn't making it easy. Clark improves to 28 points and eight assists.

8:37 p.m. – Don't count out the Wolverines. With two minutes to go, they just trail 46-41.

8:25 p.m. – Never say never.

End of first quarter: Iowa 33, Michigan 22

8:20 p.m. – We're only a quarter of the way through, and Clark has 23 points on the night, more than the Wolverines' entire team. There's no better place to be than Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

8:14 p.m. – With 3:02 left in the first quarter, Clark already has 18 points and three assists. There are no words.

8:09 p.m. – History made. And what better way to seal the deal than the iconic Caitlin Clark three-pointer.

8:06 p.m. – There it is!

8:04 p.m. – One minute in, and Clark has already scored five points. She just needs one from behind the arc to make history.

8:00 p.m. – Here we go.

7:40 p.m. – Twenty minutes until tipoff in Iowa City. Get the popcorn ready.

7:05 p.m. – Just a little prep before she breaks the scoring record. No sweat.

6:35 p.m. – The Iowa faithful are ready for history. They're lined up around Carver-Hawkeye Arena (and probably have been for hours) just waiting for doors to open.

5:45 p.m. – The record is just another day for Clark. Rather than making history, the Hawkeye is focused on enjoying the game while she can.

12:00 p.m. – As expected, Clark's likely record-breaking game is a huge draw. No tickets are available below $200, with the average ticket now nearly $400.
