Welcome to my Neighbourhood presented by DoorDash: Natalie Achonwa talks love for the authentic flavours in Ontario image

Basketball has taken Natalie Achonwa all around the globe.

The No. 9 pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft, Achonwa started her professional career with the Indiana Fever. In the years since, she's played in South Korea, China, France and Italy.

"Basketball is so special to me because it's literally taken me all over the world. Although it's mostly a plus, it has also made me into a bit of a food snob."

Achonwa teamed up with DoorDash as part of the "Welcome to my Neighbourhood" campaign to talk about her love for the authentic flavours in her hometown neighbourhood of Guelph, Ontario.

"The fact that I've lived in Korea, and I've lived in Italy, and I've lived in France, now I'm looking for that authentic dish.

"That's what I love about Ontario, I love about Canada, I love about coming home, is that when I do come home, I feel like I can find those authentic flavours.

"The food takes me back to these countries, it takes me back to these places, because it's so authentic."

Achonwa is currently in her seventh WNBA season and her first with the Minnesota Lynx. In her WNBA career, she's averaging 7.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.

Achonwa was named to the Canadian Senior Women's National Team roster for the Tokyo Olympics alongside Phoenix Mercury guard Kia Nurse.
