Warriors vs. Celtics score, results: Andrew Wiggins powers Warriors past Celtics in crucial Game 5 image

The Warriors are one win away from another NBA championship.

After closing out the Celtics in the fourth quarter, Golden State will head to Boston for Game 6 on Thursday with a chance to win their fourth NBA title in four years.

Andrew Wiggins was the star of the show, having the most important game of his career with 26 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Even though Stephen Curry went 0-for-9 from 3-point range, the Warriors were still able to prevail and pick up the win at home.

Jayson Tatum finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds but the Celtics dug themselves into a huge hole early on in the game and ran out of juice in the fourth quarter. Turnovers were once again an issue for Boston, coughing up 18 giveaways which turned into 22 points for the Warriors.

Warriors vs. Celtics results, highlights from Game 5 of NBA Finals

(All times Eastern)

Final: Warriors 104, Celtics 94

11:35 p.m.: The Warriors closed things out with ease in the fourth quarter as the Celtics couldn't generate any offense when it mattered most. Andrew Wiggins had the most impactful game of his career at the right time, finishing with 26 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Even with Stephen Curry going 0-for-9 from 3, Golden State still got enough elsewhere to get the job done, as Klay Thompson also pitched in 21 points.

The Celtics got 27 points and 10 rebounds from Jayson Tatum but the team couldn't overcome 10 missed free throws and 18 turnovers. Jaylen Brown finished with 18 points and shot 5-for-18 from the field.

11:32 p.m.: Andrew Wiggins puts the exclamation point on what has been a remarkable game for the All-Star forward. With the starters pulled for both teams, the Warriors lead 104-89 with one minute left.

11:26 p.m.: Draymond Green has fouled out of the game with 3:01 remaining. The Warriors are still in the lead 95-83.

11:21 p.m.: The Warriors' defense has stifled the Celtics in the fourth quarter, holding them to just five points. Andrew Wiggins is up to 22 points on the night after a couple of nice takes to the rack. Golden State leads 91-79 with 4:25 to go in the game.

11:04 p.m.: The Warriors open the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run. Klay Thompson knocked down a 3-pointer to force the Celtics to take a timeout to stop the bleeding. Golden State leads 82-74 with 9:30 to play in the game.

End of third quarter: Warriors 75, Celtics 74

10:56 p.m.: Jordan Poole! For the second time in this series, he gets a heave to fall at the buzzer to erupt Chase Center. The last-second 3-pointer gives the Warriors a one-point lead going into the final quarter.

Stephen Curry has been quiet with just 12 points on 0-for-6 shooting from 3. Jayson Tatum caught fire in the third quarter and is up to 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

10:51 p.m.: The Celtics went up by as much as four points but Klay Thompson has kept the Warriors close with back-to-back 3s. Thompson did pick up his fourth foul, though, and he'll head to the bench. Boston leads 70-67 with 1:25 to go in the third.

10:42 p.m.: After missing their first 12 3-pointers, the Celtics have hit eight in a row from deep. Jayson Tatum has taken over the third quarter, knocking down three 3s and dishing an assist to Al Horford on a 3 for their first lead of the game. Boston leads 58-55 with 6:28 to go in the third quarter.

10:32 p.m.: The Celtics break out of halftime with a quick 10-0 run to cut the Warriors' lead to just two points. Jayson Tatum has buried back-to-back 3-pointers and is up to 19 points and eight rebounds on the night. Golden State remains in the lead 51-49 with 10:15 on the clock.

Halftime: Warriors 51, Celtics 39

10:10 p.m.: The Warriors head into halftime with a comfortable lead and their deathly third quarter is looming. Andrew Wiggins has been incredible in this one, up to a game-high 16 points and seven rebounds in the first half. Stephen Curry joined him in double figures with 10 points, while Draymond Green has had his fingerprints all over the game.

The Celtics are struggling offensively, shooting 39 percent from the field and 20 percent from 3 with four missed free throws. Boston's turnover problems are also bubbling up, tallying eight giveaways in the first half. Jaylen Brown has looked lost with just four points on 2-for-10 shooting from the field.

9:57 p.m.: Andrew Wiggins has been the best player on the floor so far. The Warriors forward has 14 points, seven rebounds, one steal and one block to keep the Warriors in front 43-35 with 2:18 to go in the half.

The Celtics missed their first 13 3-point attempts of the game before Jayson Tatum finally got one to go. Since then, Boston has made three straight attempts from deep.

9:47 p.m.: The Celtics are starting to chip away at the Warriors' lead. Marcus Smart had a pair of strong takes and Jayson Tatum knocked down a midrange jumper to bring Boston within eight points. Golden State remains in the lead 32-24 with 8:36 to play in the half.

End of first quarter: Warriors 27, Celtics 16

9:37 p.m.: The Warriors threw the first punch, getting out to an 11-point lead after the first frame. Golden State held the Celtics to a playoff-low 16 points in the first quarter, as Boston shot 0-for-5 from 3 with four turnovers.

Andrew Wiggins leads all scorers with seven points. Jayson Tatum started to heat up with three straight buckets at the end of the first quarter, up to six points.

9:23 p.m.: Klay Thompson is heating up. Along with some physical defense, Thompson has buried a pair of jumpers to tack on five points. Two other things to note: Jayson Tatum went to the bench with zero shot attempts during his first stint and Kevon Looney has racked up three fouls in three minutes of playing time. The Warriors lead 17-8 with 3:50 to play in the first.

9:15 p.m.: The Warriors strike first. Golden State has come out with all of the energy, taking it to the Celtics early on. Andrew Wiggins is bringing it on the defensive end, forcing Jayson Tatum into a turnover while also recording a block on a Jaylen Brown pull-up jumper. Draymond Green sent Chase Center into a frenzy with a dunk in the lane. The Warriors lead 12-4 through the first four minutes.

Pregame

8:35 p.m.: The Warriors will stick with the same starting lineup adjustment from Game 4. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Otto Porter Jr. and Draymond Green will start.

8:30 p.m.: The Celtics will keep the same starting lineup: Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford and Robert Williams.
