The surprise No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, the youthful Oklahoma City Thunder, begin their quest for a deep playoff run against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Game 1 of the first round series is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET on Sunday evening.

The Thunder closed the regular season on a five-game winning streak, vaulting themselves to the No. 1 overall seed, above Denver and Minnesota. Home-court advantage should make Oklahoma City even more potent; the Thunder are 33-8 at home this season.

New Orleans emerged from the Play-In as the No. 8 seed, but their two games — a loss to the Lakers and a win over the Kings — took a toll. Late in the loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday night, star forward Zion Williamson suffered a left hamstring strain. The injury dampened a 40-point, 11-rebound performance by Williamson.

The Pelicans, who are 8-5 without Williamson this season, will go into Game 1 without their bona fide star.
