For over a decade, nobody threatened Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall's jointly-held record for the most 3-pointers made in a single game in NBA history (12).

From 2016 onwards, however, it's been a different story.

Since then, three NBA players have knocked down more than 12 3-pointers in a single game. Klay Thompson holds the regular-season record for most 3-pointers in a single game with 14, followed by Zach LaVine (13) and Stephen Curry (13).

Here's a look at all instances of NBA players knocking down 12 3-pointers or more:

  Players 3PM Date Opponent
1 Klay Thompson (GSW) 14  10/29/2018 Chicago Bulls
2 Zach LaVine (CHI) 13 11/23/2019 Charlotte Hornets
Stephen Curry (GSW) 13 11/07/2016 New Orleans Pelicans
4 Stephen Curry (GSW) 12 2/27/2016 Oklahoma City Thunder
  Donyell Marshall (TOR) 12 3/13/2006 Philadelphia 76ers
Kobe Bryant (LAL) 12 1/7/2003 Seattle SuperSonics

Of the 16 times an NBA player has knocked down 11 3-pointers, all but four have occured in 2015 or later.

Of the 16 instances in which a player has made at least 11 3-pointers, Stephen Curry, arguably the great shooter in NBA history, appears on the list six times while Damian Lillard is the only other player to have multiple games with 11 3-pointers.

Other players include Marcus Smart, Buddy Hield, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Deron Williams, J.R. Smith and Dennis Scott.

The latest entrant to the club of players to nail at least 11 3-pointers is Fred VanVleet, who shot 11-for-14 from long distance en route to scoring a Toronto Raptors franchise record 54 points.
