After each team dealt with seasons of ups and downs, the record is reset to 0-0 for the 9-seed Raptors and 10-seed Bulls, who will meet in the first round of the NBA Play-In Tournament.
For each team, the message is simple: Win or go home.
Wednesday's winner will go on to play another day, advancing to another winner-takes-all situation on Friday against the loser of the Play-In game played between the 7-seed Heat and 8-seed Hawks. Anything can happen in an elimination game.
Both Toronto and Chicago have made moves to win in the present, and while a loss in the Play-In Tournament wouldn't necessarily signify a failure, it would be a letdown for either franchise.
Will Pascal Siakam lead the Raptors to a win or will DeMar DeRozan come up big to send his former team home? This is a game you won't want to miss.
The Sporting News has you covered with everything you need to know to watch Wednesday's Eastern Conference Play-In game.
