Raptors vs. 76ers score, highlights: Philadelphia's third-quarter surge sinks Toronto in Game 6 image

At halftime of Thursday night's Game 6, the 76ers only held a one-point lead over the Raptors. By the end of the third quarter, the contest was essentially over.

Philadelphia outscored Toronto 37-17 in the third on its way to a 132-97 victory, closing out the first-round series in dominant fashion. The Sixers got contributions from their entire starting lineup, as each starter finished with at least 12 points in the win. Joel Embiid led the way, scoring a game-high 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting.

Toronto couldn't keep up in that pivotal period, shooting 5-of-19 from the field in the third. The Raptors shot 39.3 percent overall as a team despite strong showings from Pascal Siakam (24 points) and Chris Boucher (25 points).

The 76ers will next face the top-seeded Heat in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

9:30 p.m. — Both coaches pull their starters off the floor. The 76ers will win Game 6 and advance to the next round.

9:20 p.m. — Ouch. Joel Embiid takes a hard elbow from Pascal Siakam. Doc Rivers challenges the call on the floor, and it is flipped from a defensive foul on Embiid to an offensive foul on Siakam.

9:10 p.m. — With only eight minutes left, the Raptors trail by 24 points. The 76ers are in complete control.

End of third quarter: 76ers 99, Raptors 78

8:55 p.m. — The 76ers will head into the fourth quarter with a 21-point lead. The Raptors will need to make a furious comeback in the next 12 minutes if they want to extend the series.

8:45 p.m. — Oh, that's a vintage Harden highlight.

8:35 p.m. — The Raptors can't find the bottom of the net. Halfway through the third quarter, they have only scored six points. The deficit just keeps growing.

8:30 p.m. — Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey drill back-to-back 3-pointers to give the 76ers their biggest lead of Game 6. Nick Nurse calls a timeout in an attempt to stop the run.

Halftime: 76ers 62, Raptors 61

8:10 p.m. — The story of the first half: role players making major contributions. Chris Boucher (19 points, nine rebounds) and Danny Green (12 points, four 3-pointers) both hit big shots for their teams.

8 p.m. — Chris Boucher layup. James Harden layup. Pascal Siakam floater, plus the foul. This has been a fun half of basketball.
