After joining the franchise via trade in December, O.G. Anunoby is officially a major part of the Knicks' future plans.
In December, New York made a calculated risk by trading for Anunoby, who had the option to enter free agency in 2024. After declining his player option for the 2024-25 season, Anunoby has re-signed with the Knicks on a lucrative long-term deal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
It's a major deal for New York, which also reportedly acquired Mikal Bridges from Brooklyn less than 24 hours before the Anunoby news.
Here is everything you need to know about Anunoby's new deal with New York.

O.G. Anunoby contract details
Anunoby "intends to sign" a five-year, $212.5 million contract with the Knicks, per Wojnarowski.
The contract, which has an average annual value north of $40 million, will keep Anunoby in New York through the 2028-29 season. Anunoby will be the franchise's highest-paid player beginning in 2024-25.
If the Knicks start Anunoby with his lowest possible salary in the upcoming season, here is what his deal would look like, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic:
Season | Age | Salary |
2024-25 | 27 | $36.6 million |
2025-26 | 28 | $39.6 million |
2026-27 | 29 | $42.5 million |
2027-28 | 30 | $45.4 million |
2028-29 | 31 | $48.3 million |
Anunoby, who will turn 27 this offseason, has developed into one of the NBA's best perimeter defenders and proved to be the missing piece during the Knicks' 2023-24 campaign.
With Anunoby in the lineup, New York posted a 26-6 record in the regular season and playoffs. One of the six losses was Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, in which Anunoby was limited to less than five minutes of action due to a hamstring injury.
