NBA unveils collaboration with Cup of Té, Toronto-based tea company image

In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, Cup of Té, a Toronto-based premier online retailer of loose leaf organic teas and teaware, unveiled a limited-edition NBA 75th Tea Starter Kit at cupofte.ca.

At the age of 14, Cup of Té founder Taylor Lindsay-Noel, an aspiring Canadian Olympic gymnast, suffered a devastating accident in training that left her paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Driven to overcome her challenges and motivated to pursue her passions no matter the circumstance, Taylor launched Cup of Té in 2014 with the goal of providing the world’s finest loose leaf organic teas and teaware.

In keeping with her mission of benefiting local communities, $1 from the sale of all Cup of Té Starter Kits (including the NBA 75th kit) will be donated to mental health awareness through the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

The NBA 75th Tea Starter Kit includes the following items, enclosed in a custom NBA x Cup of Té collaboration box and retails for $75:

  • Sleek tea infuser and spoon, both items featuring the commemorative NBA 75th Anniversary Season logo
  • Luxe tin
  • Two, 100g packages of organic and ethically-sourced teas of the customer’s choice

This collaboration teams up Taylor’s premium products with her love of the NBA. She first started following the NBA after being assigned a project in grade school- the class was asked to do a presentation on an athlete that inspired them and Taylor chose Vince Carter.

She later completed another project on the Toronto Raptors and the history of their organization, and she’s been hooked on basketball ever since!

The first collaboration of its kind for the NBA in Canada, the league is proud to support Cup of Té as part of its continued commitment to onboarding minority- and diverse-owned businesses.
