Jazz-Trail Blazers-Spurs NBA trade details
- Jazz receive: Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Juancho Hernangomeez
- Spurs receive: Tomas Satoransky, future second-round pick
- Trail Blazers receive: Joe Ingles, Elijah Hughes, future second-round pick
In need of an offensive burst, the Jazz add a prolific guard in Alexander-Walker ahead of the deadline.
Alexander-Walker, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, was putting forth a career-best 12.8 points over 50 games with the Pelicans this season prior to his involvement in a number of deals. On Feb. 8, Alexander-Walker was traded from New Orleans to Portland as part of the C.J. McCollum trade, making this the second trade involving the Toronto native in as many days.
Utah also adds Juancho Hernangomez, who has yet to find his footing this season after averaging 7.2 points over 52 games with Minnesota in 2021-22.
The Trail Blazers continue their dealing, acquiring an expiring contract in Joe Ingles along with second-year guard Elijah Hughes.
Joe Ingles contract
Ingles, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, is making $12.4 million this season, which will come off of Portland's books in the 2022 offseason. After eight seasons with the Utah Jazz, Ingles will enter unrestricted free agency this summer.
With its deadline dealings, Portland is positioning itself to be a major player this offseason.
TRADE GRADES: McCollum to Pelicans | Sabonis to Kings
The Spurs bring in Satoransky, who is in the final year of a three-year, $30 million contract, meaning his $10 million will come off of San Antonio's books this offseason.
San Antonio continues to stockpile assets while retooling its roster to compete around a young core that includes first-time All-Star Dejounte Murray.
