A staple event of the NBA summer since the early to mid-2000s, the 2021 edition is set to include 30 teams with each playing five games each as per The Athletic's Shams Charania.
As it didn't get rescheduled prior to the start of the 2020-21 season in December, it made the 2020 rookies a unique draft class as they began their NBA careers without any Summer League action to get up to speed before their debuts.

Despite the slightly delayed start, as compared to its typical timeline of early July, the Summer League is in familiar territory with respect to other key events on the NBA calendar year.
Set to be held just over a week after the 2021 NBA Draft (July 29), the Summer League also tips-off just 48 hours after the teams can officially begin signing free agents from 12 p.m. ET on Aug. 6.
