In a game that was tight the entire way, the Toronto Raptors edged out a tough win on the road defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 101-96.

Kawhi Leonard was incredible yet again, scoring 39 points on just 20 shots to go with 14 rebounds and five assists. Jimmy Butler's 29 points, 11 rebounds and four assists kept the 76ers close but they couldn't overcome a quiet game from Joel Embiid, who finished with 11 points and eight boards.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors

Final: Raptors 101, 76ers 96

After a few stops and some made free throws the Raptors closed out the 76ers for the tough road win to even the series.

Kawhi Leonard with the dagger! He knocks down a massive 3-ball to give the Raptors a four-point lead and after a stop and a pair of Danny Green free throws, Toronto leads 96-90 with 38.5 seconds remaining.


JJ Redick with a smooth 3-pointer to cut the Raptors lead to one at 91-90 with just 1:45 on the clock.

The Raptors lead 87-85 with 4:02 on the clock. Joel Embiid is struggling at the free throw line, missing three of his last four attempts.

It's been back-and-forth as the Raptors hold a slim 85-84 lead with 5:42 to play. Marc Gasol has five points in the quarter including a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game a couple possessions back.

After the first stoppage in play we're still tied at 81-81 after Pascal Siakam gets his second bucket of the game to drop. He's 2-for-10 on the game with just six points and two rebounds.

End of third quarter: Raptors 75, 76ers 75

We're sure to have a good finish in this one – teams are all tied up at 75 heading into the final quarter. Kawhi Leonard is up to 31 points on just 16 shots to lead the Raptors' offence. Joel Embiid has just eight points on five shot attempts for Philly but Jimmy Butler (19 points) and Tobias Harris (17 points) have picked up the slack to keep this one close.


The Raptors go on a quick 6-0 run to respond to the 76ers' hot start in the second half. Toronto has retaken the lead at 66-65 after Kyle Lowry passes up an open 3-pointer to feed Pascal Siakam for an open dunk – his first field goal of the game.


The 76ers start the second half with four straight points to take the lead 49-47 forcing a Raptors timeout.

Halftime: Raptors 47, 76ers 45

Jimmy Butler buries a big 3-pointer to close the half bringing the Sixers within two at 47-45. Butler's 14 points leads the team at the break with contributions from Tobias Harris and JJ Redick, who have eight points each.

Kawhi Leonard has 17 points and 10 rebounds while Kyle Lowry has stepped up his play considerably, scoring 10 points with four assists at the half.

The Raptors remain in the lead 43-38 with 2:10 to play in the half. Serge Ibaka is providing some good minutes off the bench, playing hard with eight points and five rebounds. Ben Simmons just threw down a big dunk off a Joel Embiid block to force a Raptors timeout.

End of first quarter: Raptors 24, 76ers 21

The 76ers end the quarter on a 10-2 run to cut the Raptors' lead to just three points at the end of the quarter. Jimmy Butler has continued his great play, scoring seven points to go with five boards in the first frame.


It's been all Raptors so far in this one as they lead the 76ers 22-13 with 3:14 left in the first. Kawhi Leonard already has nine points shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the field. Ben Simmons is already in some foul trouble with two fouls.


Kyle Lowry attacking early just as he intended. He has five points in the first two minutes to give the Raptors an early 7-4 lead.
