If you been following college basketball or reading over the various mock drafts leading up to the 2018 NBA Draft you'll know the name Trae Young.

Young burst onto to the scene early in the college season averaging nearly 30 points and nine assists per game - announcing himself as one of the best guards in a guard rich draft class.

At 6'2' and the ability to get red hot from three-point range the 19-year-old has drawn comparisons to two-time MVP Stephen Curry. Young, however, says his favourite NBA player is Canadian Steve Nash.

"My favourite player of all-time is Steve Nash," Young told ESPN at the NBA Draft Lottery.  "How cerebral he is, how he can score from all three levels.

"He's just been my favourite player growing up and I've watched a lot of him."

Nash who will be inducted to the Naismith Hall of Fame later this year played 18 seasons in the NBA. He was an eight-time all-star, seven-time all NBA and two-time MVP going back to back in 2005 and 2006.

Young would've been eight years old when Nash won the first of his two MVPs. He hopes to achieve what the Hall of Famer has over his incredible career.

"Hopefully one day I can achieve (what he has). I can look back and say I achieved a lot of the things he did."

Young averaged 27.4 points, 8.7 assists on 42% shooting from the field in 32 games for the Oklahoma Sooners.
