Last month, the Canadian Senior Women's National Team revealed their roster for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Among the 12 individuals named was Minnesota Lynx forward Bridget Carleton, a native of Chatham, Ontario.

The No. 21 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft, this will be Carleton's first time competing at the Olympics, though she has represented Canada at other competitions in the past. It's been a dream of hers to get to this stage, and she's excited for the opportunity.

"Representing Canada has always been my number one goal, to represent our country at the Olympics and medal at the Olympics," Carleton said.

"I take great pride in wearing the red and white, and having the maple leaf across my chest. I'm a very proud Canadian and my family's proud Canadians.

"Being able to represent our entire country at the highest stage is a dream of mine."

Team Canada's first game at the Tokyo Olympics will be against Serbia on Monday, July 26. They will then face Korea on Thursday, July 29, followed by Spain on Sunday, Aug. 1.

Team Canada will be looking to medal for the first time ever. Their best Olympic finish to date came in 1984 when they placed fourth behind the United States, Spain and Yugoslavia.
