LeBron James injury update: Lakers star plays through ankle injury in fourth quarter of Game 2

The Lakers are facing a 2-0 deficit after dropping both games to the Nuggets in Denver.

Los Angeles went into the fourth quarter with a lead but Jamal Murray caught fire to propel the Nuggets to a comeback victory.

During the fourth quarter of a back-and-forth battle, Lakers star LeBron James went down with a left ankle injury after stepping on Anthony Davis' foot. James never left the game, but he looked hobbled as he finished the final few minutes of the game.

James rolled his left ankle late in the fourth quarter when he stepped on Davis' foot as the two battled for a rebound.

He stayed down on the ground as the Lakers pushed the ball up the court for a fast break on the other end, but eventually got back up on his feet to continue playing.

James finished the contest with 22 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 40 minutes.

LeBron James ankle injury

James never left the game, playing out the final minute of the contest with Los Angeles only trailing by two points at the moment of his injury.

He had an impressive steal during the Lakers' full-court pressure and also had a coast-to-coast layup after the ankle injury — both of which are good signs about its severity.

After the game, James said he'll be ready to play in Game 3.

"I'll be ready to play (on Saturday). ... Nothing is keeping me from playing."
