Dennis Schroder won't have much of a break this offseason.
After a deep run in the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Schroder will lead Germany in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Not only will Germany be looking to medal, but it will be looking to punch its ticket to the Paris 2023 Olympic Games.
The World Cup will run from Aug. 25 to Sept. 10. Schroder will then report to training camp with the Raptors in the first week of October. That doesn't leave him much time to recover from an Achilles injury that he's still working his way back from.

Dennis Schroder injury update
Ahead of Germany's exhibition game against Canada on Aug. 9, Schroder told the media that he underwent treatment for an Achilles injury and is still "trying to get back to 100 percent."
"I had Achilles tendon problems at the end of the season and then all the time in the offseason," Schroder said, per BasketNews.
"I've had it treated, and I'm trying to get back to 100 percent. This is our eighth training session and one game. Everyone's getting ready. It's looking very good."
Schroder appeared in 66 of a possible 82 games during the NBA's 2022-23 regular season. The longest stretch of games he missed came at the start of the season due to a finger injury he suffered in the preseason that required surgery.
While Schroder appeared in all 16 of the Lakers' games in their run to the Western Conference Finals, he was listed as probable on the injury report at times in the 2023 NBA Playoffs with right Achilles soreness.
A month ago, Schroder shared a video on YouTube of him visiting a doctor in Germany to check on his Achilles.
"Very small spot, but it's very sensitive," Schroder told the doctor of his Achilles injury according to the video's subtitles. "When I slightly touch it, it already hurts, on top as well. But it's really just a tiny spot."
