Jose Alvarado gave Team Canada a scare, but the Canadian men's national team held on to win its final exhibition game before the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Dillon Brooks led the way with 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the 103-93 victory on Sunday. Alvarado led Puerto Rico with 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
The Pelicans guard went on a scoring spree in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to as few as five points. Canada was able to bounce back and retake a double-digit advantage before the closing minutes.
While the outcome doesn't hold any weight at the Olympics, it serves as a final test and opportunity for both squads to generate momentum heading into the Summer Games.
