Despite entering the Knockout Stage as the second-best seed, Canada has come up well short of expectations after falling to France in the first round, 82-73.
France head coach Vincent Collet made a bold lineup change to bring veterans Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier off the bench. That decision catalyzed a 23-10 first-quarter lead for Les Bleus, putting the pressure on undefeated Canada to mount a comeback.
Canada put up a strong fight in the second half and cut the deficit to as few as six points but couldn't get over the hump.
