Why Bucks are playing on blue court at Fiserv Forum — even when it doesn't match Milwaukee's uniforms

The Bucks will likely enter the 2023 NBA Playoff bracket with the No. 1 overall seed once they complete what has been an impressive regular season. They have an MVP candidate in Giannis Antetokounmpo and a deep roster, making them a true title contender.

Milwaukee owns the best record in the league in large part because of its dominance within the friendly confines of Fiserv Forum. The Bucks are tied with the Cavaliers for the most home wins in the Eastern Conference at 31.

If you've watched Milwaukee play at home recently, you may have been surprised to see Bucks players running up and down a blue court. The organization's decision to swap out its usual floor for an alternate look has nothing to do with aesthetics.

Why Bucks are playing on blue court at Fiserv Forum

Back in November, the Bucks unveiled new "Gathering Place" edition uniforms, which feature multiple shades of blue. Milwaukee also introduced a matching "Gathering Place" court.

The Bucks initially planned to bring out the uniform and court combination for every Wednesday home game this season, but Dustin Godsey, the franchise's chief marketing officer, announced in February that Milwaukee's primary court required "a few repairs."

"We're switching to the 'Gathering Place' court until further notice," Godsey said. "We look forward to having our primary court back soon."

The primary uniforms on a blue court may look odd, but the switch certainly hasn't impacted the Bucks' level of play. They are 7-3 at home since Godsey sent out that tweet.

Bucks schedule 2022-23
