What channel is the NASCAR race on today? What time does the NASCAR race start? These are the questions that plague race fans every Sunday, when each Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race will be on either NBC or NBCSN for the second half of the 2019 season with differing start times.
As for Sunday's South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Cup Series' second of two visits to the track this year and the first race of the 2019 playoffs, the channel that will broadcast the race is NBCSN. The start time for the race at Vegas is 7 p.m. ET.

As part of NBC's TV deal with NASCAR for the 2019 season, NBC was slated to show seven of the final 20 races of the season, with the other 13 scheduled to be shown on NBCSN.

Q&A: Jimmie Johnson talks NASCAR's future, midweek Cup races, more
Among drivers in the field, Jimmie Johnson has the highest career rating at Las Vegas. Johnson, of course, failed to make the Cup Series playoffs this year for the first time in his career, but that doesn't mean he can't crash the party for the 16 drivers in the postseason field. Johnson is the all-time winningest driver at Las Vegas with four victories, and his 595 career laps led at the track are the most among active drivers.
Among the drivers who are in the playoff field, though, Kyle Busch should be considered a favorite this weekend. The Las Vegas native has a series-best seven top-five finishes at this track and the second best all-time driver rating behind Johnson.

The 15 playoff points Busch received for winning the regular-season championship this year happen to be the difference between Busch and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Denny Hamlin, in second place in the standings. Busch also starts the playoffs 16 points up on another teammate, Martin Truex Jr., and all three of the drivers are four-race winners in 2019.
"You look at it and we won the title in our first year together," Busch said this week of his current team members. "We have been able to back it up (with) playoff positions each year since. Hopefully we can keep that trend going.
"We have certainly worked hard throughout the regular season to get this playoff point advantage that we have right now. It would be nice not to have to rely on those points, but to be able to win some races here and close out the season strong and get to Homestead and race for a championship."
