With a backdrop seemingly cut from a Georgia O'Keeffe landscape, Phoenix Raceway is among the most visually stunning tracks in all of NASCAR. It's also among the most hectic.
FOLLOW LIVE: Updates, highlights from United Rentals Work United 500 at Phoenix
At just one mile long, "The Desert Oddball" is on the shorter end of Cup Series distance scale. Low banking can make the track a little frightening, as well, particularly on warm afternoons that slicken the racing surface.
That'll be the case for drivers at the United Rentals Work United 500 this weekend. Although a picturesque setting for a race, the baking temps and remorseless sun can prove difficult for even the most experienced of drivers.
Joey Logano made Phoenix Raceway his playground last year, outlasting his Championship 4 competitors to take home the Cup Series crown in the season finale. But even he isn't immune to problems there, as was the case when he totaled his car in the 2018 playoffs.
Things tend to get interesting in the Valley of the Sun, and Cup Series fans await another incident-filled affair there in the spring race.
