NASCAR at Dover final results, highlights: Martin Truex Jr. nabs checkered flag in rain-delayed Wurth 400 image

Brotherly love was on display at Dover this weekend, as Martin Truex Jr. joined younger brother Ryan in victory lane with his win in Monday's Wurth 400.

It was as a race mired in controversy. From the weather to the wrecks, it seemed there was a talking point for nearly every aspect of Monday's race.

The action reached a fever pitch early, when Ross Chastain wiped out Rick Ware Racing replacement driver Brennen Poole. Poole's wreck was one thing. The fact that he collected Hendrick Motorsports star Kyle Larson, Dover's best-ever driver, was another. And Larson let his feelings on Chastain's antics be known, calling the TrackHouse Racing standout a "f— idiot." How eloquent.

Ultimately, Chastain's move appeared to pay dividends. He found himself on top for the fast majority of the final two stages, appearing close to landing yet another Cup Series W, his first of the season.

That's when Truex made his maneuver, stealing the march on the No. 1 as he slipped into lap traffic. Soon, it was Truex on top. And the wily veteran made no mistakes, outlasting Chastain, who rocked four new tires after a late caution.

NASCAR at Dover live updates, highlights from 2023 race

(All times Eastern)

3:41 p.m.: And it's Truex who takes the checkered flag at Dover! A sweep for the Truex brothers on the Monster Mile.

3:40 p.m.: Truex doing very well to contain Chastain. Two laps to go but the tire difference will be telling.

3:38 p.m.: Green flag back at Dover. It's Blaney and Truex fighting for first, within Chastain tight in third. He's on four new tires. Chastain jumps past Blaney to claim sole control of second. Just five laps remaining.

3:29 p.m.: CAUTION! Logano's day come to a close with 13 laps remaining. He spins into the wall after his tire blows. That will make things very interesting here.

3:24 p.m.: Chastain trying to make a move on the race leader Truex. He's trying to get up the track as the No. 19 car gets separation. It's a work in progress, though.

3:17 p.m.: Ooh! Things are getting ever so tight between Truex and Chastain. Truex has the lead by less than a second. But things could get that much closer amid serious lap traffic. Remember, everyone from P12 finds themselves down at least one lap.

3:13 p.m.: Truex takes the lead with 65 laps left. He holds the slight lead over Chastain, who drops down the field for the first time since Stage 2.

3:06 p.m: Stage 3 sees pit road open up after a hectic period of laps. Chastain still on top. 72 laps remaining before a victor is crowned.

2:26 p.m.: Chastain nabs Stage 2 at a cantor. Maybe his aggressive driving did pay off, after all.

2:24 p.m.: Truex had a little disagreement with his team a few laps ago. Seemed to have spurred him on; he's in the Top-5 now and charging hard on Hamlin in P4. Looks like he might have gotten it with four laps left in the stage.

2:19 p.m.: Chastain is rollicking down the track. He's got a near 1.5-second edge over Byron in P2. Further down the field, shoutout to Bubba Wallace, who has climbed 17 spots from his starting position. He's in P11.

2:04 p.m.: Byron a bit tight so he's headed to the pits. Chastain to the front now.

2:00 p.m.: Bell and Logano headed to pit road. The No. 20 was dropping like a stone; went from Top-5 to outside of the Top-10 after a few laps. He'll hope to rectify the issue and get himself back where he expects to be: near the front.

1:57 p.m.: Chastain gets around Blaney for P2. Looks like the No. 12 was trying to make a move on the outside. However, Aric Almirola, who was in front of him, wanted to give him the bottom of the track. The miscommunication gave Chastain the gap to make his move and get beyond the Team Penske starlet.

1:52 p.m.: It's been a year of improvement for Corey LaJoie, who finds himself an average of 10 spots better than he was last year. He sits just outside the Top-10 and is continuing to show improvement race after race. Much respect.

1:49 p.m.: Byron showing out at the Monster Mile. He's led 127 laps so far. Another racer worth looking out for? Ty Gibbs, who sits in eighth. The rookie has been a model of consistency throughout the year. Perhaps he could capture his first Cup Series win?

1:38 p.m.: Second stage kicks off and it's more of the same for Byron, who continues to assert his dominance on the field. Blaney a distant second. Chastain, Bell and Hamlin also in the mix, rounding out the Top 5.

1:30 p.m.: Byron takes Stage 1! However, perhaps more interestingly: Larson met minimum speed but still decided to head to the garage. Many on social media are speculating (hoping?) that the Hendrick Motorsport star says f— it, makes the modifications needed to get himself around Chastain and take him out. Could Larson pull a Kenseth? Watch this space.

1:13 p.m.: Poole not happy with Chastain, who is up to P2 after the restart.

1:09 p.m.: Larson is Dover's greatest ever driver in terms of average finish. He had about as good a chance as anyone to take this race. Chastain wasn't having it, though. Be interesting to see how the No. 5 car views Ross' antics post-race.

1:03 p.m.: CAUTION! And just like that, Larson's run for the lead is done. Ross Chastain gets in the back of Brennan Poole on the corner, who clears into the wall. He takes Larson with him, whose right front is completely torn apart.

1:00 p.m.: Kyle Larson making some serious ground on the competition. He's up five spots from his position on the last restart. P5 for No. 5.

12:50 p.m.: Byron and Hamlin are putting on a show as we approach the midpoint of Stage 1. There's about two seconds of difference between second-place Hamlin and third-place Ryan Blaney. Clean air is making a difference.

12:47 p.m.: Byron leads the way on the restart. Busch making his way up the field, as well. He's in P26 at the moment.

12:38 p.m.: CAUTION! Suarez goes hard into Turn 2, collecting Ty Dillon and B.J. McLeod in the process. Busch might have suffered a slight bit of damage as well.

12:31 p.m.: CAUTION! Gragson goes flying as we go back to green. Slapped the wall and slid all over the track, kissing the inside medium before coming to a stop. Unlucky for the rookie.

12:26 p.m.: Ooooooooof. That's a big blow for Busch, who moves from the front to the rear in the blink of an eye.

12:25 p.m.: Contact between Hendrick Motorsports teammates Berry and William Byron on pit road. You don't see that every day.

12:21 p.m.: Caution flag waved on Lap 21. Josh Berry and Hamlin the biggest jumpers thus far, moving up six and five spots, respectively.

12:17 p.m.: Another driver absolutely blitzing the field? Denny Hamlin. He's already in the Top 10. Looks like he's trying to secure a good spot before that competition caution.

12:16 p.m.: Joey Logano already flying down the track. After wrecking in last week's race, he is making quick work of things in the race's early moments. Already up five spots in the opening 11 laps.

12:13 p.m.: And we're green at Dover! Kyle Busch leading the charge in P1. He's being trailed closely by Joe Gibbs Racing star Christopher Bell.

12:11 p.m.: Plenty of race fans here at Dover. We're good for green here. Pretty chilly in Delaware, a cool 59 degrees. Competition caution slated for Lap 20, so drivers should get a little chance to get a feel for the track after having their practice runs and qualifying halted.

12:02 p.m.: Engines are started! We're about 10 minutes from the start of the race.

11:45 a.m.: One more look at the lineup for today's race. Green flag set to drop at 12:10 p.m. Austin Dillon is driving his backup No. 3 car, so watch out for that today. He's sitting in the rearguard.

11:40 a.m.: Noah Gragson sporting whatever this monstrosity of a haircut is. Not great, from our vantage point.
