The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series will once again begin with the traditional Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway.

Last year's race saw a surprise victory by rookie driver Austin Cindric of Team Penske. He led 21 of the final 45 laps to win the opening race of the 2022 season. Though he finished in the top 10 eight more times over the course of the season, Daytona proved to be his only victory of the season.
The question is whether Cindric will be able to build off his rookie campaign — and last year's victory — in a repeat performance. That said, Denny Hamlin is the odds-on favorite to win the season-opening race at 10-1 odds. Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott are considered the next-closest contenders at 12-1 odds. Cindric enters the race at 22-1 odds.
As always, the first race of the NASCAR Cup Series should be an exciting start to the season. Here's everything you need to know about the first race of the season at the Daytona International Speedway.
