The 2024 IndyCar season kicks off with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Florida, on Sunday.

There are 27 cars on the entry list for this 100-lap race around the 14-turn, 1.8-mile temporary St. Petersburg street circuit, the track which has hosted the season opener in 12 of the last 15 seasons.

Marcus Ericsson won last year’s race, the fourth time he's gone to victory lane, including the 2022 Indianapolis 500. This week, Ericsson will race against Andretti Global for the first time.

Alex Palou is a two-time champion but he's looking to earn his first win in Petersburg.

Felix Rosenqvist and Tom Blomqvist will provide a new look for the team co-owned by Jim Meyer and Michael Shank. Rosenqvist is entering his sixth full season in IndyCar racing and he is a former race winner of Road America 2020.

Helio Castroneves will return to an Indy-only ride, a role he had with Team Penske (2018, 2019) and with Arrow McLaren (2020).
