The UFC returns to Winnipeg for the first time since June 15, 2013, where UFC 161 was the headlining event.

Over four years later, Robbie Lawler and Rafael Dos Anjos are in welterweight action and the anticipated matchup will serve as the main event. Lawler and Dos Anjos are both waiting their chance to fight current welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. The winner of the bout between Lawler and Dos Anjos will likely challenge Woodley in 2018.

Ricardo Lamas is in a confusing situation.

Lamas was originally face Jose Aldo in the co-main event. That was until Frankie Edgar was forced out of his UFC 218 bout with Max Holloway. Now, as a result, Aldo jumped at the chance for a rematch with Holloway, who defeated Aldo for the featherweight title in June. Lamas faces Josh Emmett on short notice with UFC Winnipeg rapidly approaching.
