Jamahal Hill is ready to win back the title he never lost when he challenges Alex Pereira for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 300 on April 13.

Pereira has quickly climbed up the ladder since joining the UFC in 2021. He won the UFC middleweight title in his fourth octagon fight and the UFC light heavyweight title in his seventh. That is the shortest time in UFC history between fights in two divisions. "Poatan" has a stoic personality and power that makes him one of the most intimidating fighters in MMA today.

However, Hill doesn’t feel unnerved heading into the historic fight card in Las Vegas.

"He's just a man. I don't do that whole mythical build-up, all that thing, my mind doesn't work like that," Hill told Give Me Sport. "I look at the man, I look at the problems he presents, and I look at the opportunities I have and that's it. It comes from a simple fact of what I've experienced. I've seen men, I've seen men that I thought were scary, and I thought were terrifying, and then by the time we got in there, they feared me. I didn't fear them. They feared me.

"That's just what it comes down to. Time again, I've shown myself that I'm the one to be feared. He don't scare me? What do I have to be scared of?"

Hill is a former Dana White’s Contender Series standout. "Sweet Dreams" beat Glover Teixeira to win the UFC light heavyweight title but relinquished it due to injury. He hopes to be a two-time champion at the end of the night.
