Mike Tyson said the ugly scenes after Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 229 triumph over Conor McGregor were "crazier" than his "fight riot" after his 1997 boxing match against Evander Holyfield.
Nurmagomedov retained his lightweight title by submitting McGregor, making his first UFC appearance since November 2016, by a rear-naked choke in the fourth round, but climbed out of the Octagon and ignited a melee by leaping at the Irishman's team.

McGregor was then attacked after two individuals climbed into the Octagon in Las Vegas, though UFC president Dana White stated the 30-year-old would not press charges.
Tyson said the violence was worse than what followed his WBA heavyweight title fight against Holyfield, when he was disqualified for biting his opponent's ear.
"Watching the [McGregor] vs [Nurmagomedov] fight. Unimaginable," he posted on Twitter. "Never thought it would go down like this. Crazier than my fight riot."

UFC president Dana White told a news conference in the aftermath he was "disgusted and sick" with what took place, and he was reminded of the Holyfield-Tyson fight with what occurred.
"I was at the Tyson-Holyfield fight and that thing was crazy. It spilled out into the crowd, then into the casino and it just seemed like it wouldn't stop," said White. "When it started, I had visions of that, because I was there and it was scary. They did a great job of containing it because usually that stuff spreads like a wildfire."
Nurmagomedov's share of the purse is currently being withheld and the Russian has also been warned by White that he could yet be stripped of the belt.
