Could Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor join forces?

In an interview with TMZ Sports, the boxing legend is thinking about calling Dana White so he could attend UFC 229 in Las Vegas on October 6. Mayweather even went as far to say that he would be willing to help his old rival ahead of his challenge against undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“I’ll talk with Dana, I may talk with Conor to get some tickets,” Mayweather said. “But leading up to the fight, when McGregor gets to Las Vegas, we’d like him to train at — I know the UFC has got a training facility — but we’d like for him to work out at the Mayweather Boxing Club.”

Nurmagomedov (26-0) is the biggest test in McGregor's MMA career. The former pound-for-pound great didn't give a prediction on how the things will play out because he's never seen Nurmagomedov compete before, but heaped high praise towards his former opponent.

“I don’t really have a prediction because I’ve never seen the guy that’s facing Conor McGregor," Mayweather said. "From what I know, he’s a hell of a guy that’s on the ground, a hell of a grappler, and he can wrestle. But the fans want to see you stand up and fight, that’s what the fans like to see. Conor McGregor, he’s a tough competitor.

“Conor McGregor’s not going to back down from anyone. He’s not scared. He’s a warrior.”
