Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Lyoto Machida can’t contain their excitement at this point.

They’ll be featured on the co-main event of Bellator MMA’s Hawaii card on Dec. 15 live and exclusively on DAZN at 10 p.m. ET. The event, which will take place at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, will be Bellator’s first trip to Hawaii and the first major MMA card to be held there in 10 years.

For Macfarlane, a Honolulu native, Bellator Hawaii marks a homecoming. For Machida, it will be his Bellator MMA debut. Macfarlane (8-0) will put her women’s flyweight title on the line against No. 1 contender Valérie Létourneau (10-6), while Machida (24-8), a former UFC light heavyweight champion, will face Rafael Carvalho (15-2) to headline the event.

Both Macfarlane and Machida can’t wait.

Machida signed with Bellator MMA this past June after delivering a second-round knockout of Vitor Belfort at UFC 224 in May. The 40-year-old has wins against the impressive likes of Tito Ortiz, Rashad Evans, Randy Couture, “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson to name a few.

Bellator Hawaii will also pit Neiman Gracie (8-0) up against Ed Ruth (6-0) in Welterweight World Grand Prix first-round action.

Tickets for Bellator Hawaii go on sale this Friday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. HT and can be purchased through Bellator.com, in addition to Ticketmaster.com.
