It’s all about gold at Bellator 300, which will feature three major title fights on October 7. The event takes place at Pechanga Arena in San Diego and will air on Showtime in the U.S.

With rumors of the PFL buying Bellator, many have wondered what the future holds for the MMA promotion. However, Scott Coker President put those rumors to bed.

“No, listen, we’re going to keep doing more fights,” Coker said on SiriusXM via BJ Penn. “John [S. Nash] is incorrect in his projection, but listen, I’ll give him an A for effort. There’s a lot of rumors out there. Let’s see what happens, but in the meantime, we’re going to keep promoting fights.”

The main event, the first of three title bouts, will be Usman Nurmagomedov defending the Bellator lightweight title against Brent Primus in a semi-final bout of the Bellator Lightweight Grand Prix.

The cousin of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomeov, Usman turned pro in 2017. Joining Bellator in 2021, he beat Patricky Pitbull in 2022 for the lightweight title. In the first round of the Grand Prix in March, Nurmagomev defeated Benson Henderson via submission.

Primus turned pro in 2010. He beat Michael Chandler in 2017 for the Bellator lightweight title but lost it in a rematch. Since then, he has gone 4-2. Replacing Sidney Outlaw in the Lightweight Grand Prix, Primus bested Mansour Barnaoui in the opening round to advance.

The co-main event sees Cris Cyborg defend the Bellator featherweight title against Cat Zingano.

A trailblazer, Cyborg has held gold with Invicta, Strikeforce, the UFC, and Bellator. She beat Julia Budd for the Bellator featherweight title and has successfully defended it four times, with her last bout in April 2022 against Arlene Blencowe.

A four-time All-American and National Wrestling Champion, Zingano is 4-0 in the Bellator cage. Her previous fight was a unanimous decision win over Leah McCourt in March. Previously, Zingano has teased Cyborg about undergoing drug testing ahead of their fight. This is due to Cyborg having tested positive for steroid metabolites in 2012.

Finally, Liz Carmouche defends the Bellator flyweight title against former champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane. Competing in the first women's fight in UFC history, Carmouche won the Bellator flyweight title against Juliana Velasquez. The inaugural champion in 2017, Macfarlane lost the belt in 2019. The Hawaiian has gone 2-1 since and is on a two-fight win streak.
