In hopes of helping Tackle Kids Cancer the New York Red Bulls will be wearing some very special boots when they take the field for warmups this weekend.

The boots were designed by the players and pediatric cancer patients from the New York/New Jersey area and sport some interesting designs.

Patients and their parents visited the Red Bulls training facility over the course of the summer. Each child was paired with a player and they got to work designing the special boots for this weekend.

And the results are pretty amazing, with everything from favorite cartoons to ice cream and pizza, with a wide range of interests in between.

"Over the past couple of years, through Tackle Kids Cancer and our partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health, we have been able to provide opportunities for players to make a difference in the lives of others, but in the end, the players end up realizing that with those visits and those experiences that the kids make a difference in their lives as well," said Red Bulls captain Luis Robles in a team press release.

"I know with this organization we constantly say that we want to be a part of the community, we want to be in the community and it is through Tackle Kids Cancer that we have an opportunity to serve our community, and through the sport of soccer we can make a difference in the lives of others."

Have a look for yourself at some of the creative designs.

The boots were all hand-painted by local artist Jessie Kavana and will be worn in the team's warmup ahead of their clash with Toronto FC on Saturday, with the club also offering special tickets in support of Tackle Kids Cancer and Love Your Melon.
