Decision Day 2017 was one for the record books in Major League Soccer.
Aside from the late drama on the pitch that earned the San Jose Earthquakes a playoff spot, records fell all around the league.
Toronto FC set the most impressive mark, with the club's 2-2 draw against Atlanta United running the team's total haul for the season to 69 points, the most ever for an MLS team in a season.

That same match saw a crowd of 71,874 pack the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, setting a new standalone game record for the league, though in this case Atlanta was merely replacing its own record set earlier this season against Orlando City.

There were also goals aplenty.
The 46 goals scored on Sunday marks the highest-scoring single day in MLS history, and for the first time in league history 10 players have reached the 15 goal mark, with CJ Sapong and Jozy Altidore both netting on the final day.
Sapong's 15th goal of the season set a new club mark for the Philadelphia Union as well, while the Columbus Crew saw Ola Kamara net his 18th goal of the campaign, good enough to equal the club's previous single-season scoring mark held by Stern John.

Chris Wondolowski also managed to move himself up a bit in MLS record books, pulling level with Jeff Cunningham with his 134th league goal, good for second all-time behind MLS career leader Landon Donovan (145). While the Earthquakes earned a playoff spot, they did so with the second-worst goal differential of any playoff team in the history of the league at minus-21.
The last-minute goal for the Earthquakes also set one other record, with Minnesota United giving up its 70th goal of the season. That total sets the mark for goals against, passing the 1998 Colorado Rapids, who gave up 69 strikes.
