Yankees right-hander Domingo German, placed on administrative leave Thursday under MLB's domestic violence policy, won't pitch again until his case is resolved, ESPN reported Friday.

As a result, the Yankees will be without their winningest pitcher (18-4) through the postseason.

MLB announced Thursday that German was being investigated for an alleged incident, but details were not made public. The initial leave period was set to last up to seven days, but that's been extended and will now last the rest of 2019.

The Yankees on Thursday clinched their first AL East title since 2012.

According to the Athletic, which cited unidentified league sources, there was no police report regarding German and the alleged incident that was reported directly to MLB on Tuesday. The preliminary investigation was expedited, and German is not allowed to be around the team while on administrative leave.

The Yankees released a statement shortly after MLB's announcement saying they will comply with the investigation.

“We fully support all measures being undertaken by the Commissioner’s Office pursuant to the Policy on Domestic Violence," the Yankees said. "We support this policy which reinforces that domestic violence has no place in our society and cannot be tolerated. We have followed the lead of Major League Baseball and will continue to provide our complete cooperation throughout the investigative process.

"We reserve any further comment until the investigation reaches its conclusion. All questions pertaining to this matter should be directed to the Office of the Commissioner.”

German, 27, has been instrumental in the Yankees' rotation as they have battled a myriad of injuries this season. The right-hander is 18-4 on the year with a 4.03 ERA in 27 appearances (24 starts).

In a corresponding move, the Yankees announced they have signed right-hander Michael King to a major league deal and added him to their roster. King, 24, was the Yankees' minor league pitcher of the year in 2018 but spent most of this season rehabbing a spring training elbow injury.
