With some significant player movement over the offseason, this should be a very exciting time to be a baseball fan and bettor. How good can the Dodgers be with Shohei Ohtani? Will Corbin Burnes push the Orioles over the top? Are the Yankees legit contenders again now that they bagged Juan Soto?

World Series 2024: Favorites
Los Angeles Dodgers (+350)
How can we start with any other team than the Dodgers when discussing favorites? One of the perennial powerhouses of the big leagues went out and hauled in the biggest fish in the proverbial ocean, Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman now form a trio of MVP-caliber players like we've never seen on the same team in MLB history. Oh, and former MVP and Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw is also returning, with Tyler Glasnow and James Paxton joining him in the rotation.
Good lord, Los Angeles! It's hard to recommend such short odds for a bet on the futures market, but the Dodgers seem as close to a sure thing as any team in professional sports.

Atlanta Braves (+450)
The Braves always seem like the club that looks to the Dodgers and says "Anything you can do, we can do better." Heck, they've won the World Series more recently (2021) than L.A. (2020), and hit 58 more home runs than the Dodgers last season!
Reigning MVP outfielder Ronald Acuña put up unprecedented speed and power numbers last season. Slugger Matt Olson has been a revelation at first base. There were zero holes in Atlanta's batting order and its bullpen maintained a 2.45 ERA (second-best in the NL).
If the Braves can keep top-end rotational arms Spencer Strider, Max Fried and Chris Sale off the IL, this team will be just as formidable a threat as the rival Dodgers.

Houston Astros (+800)
You can never count out the Astros, especially with Josh Hader joining Ryan Pressly in an already-stacked bullpen and Justin Verlander, Framber Valdez and Cristian Javier leading the rotation.
The offensive firepower speaks for itself, too — Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman comprise one of the most lethal foursomes in the majors. Houston could easily get back to the World Series for the third time in four years and win its second MLB pennant in three years.
World Series 2024: Biggest risers
New York Yankees (+1000)
The Yankees endured a down year in 2023, but they seem poised for a huge bounce-back campaign. Adding slugger Juan Soto to an outfield that already includes Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton always helps.
Getting Gerrit Cole back to full health and enjoying the fruits of a bolstered bullpen will be nice, too. Some would say the Yankees seem priced too high, but if the Pinstripers stay healthy this could be the best value in the bigs.

Baltimore Orioles (+1200)
The Orioles jumped from an 83-win team in 2022 to a 101-win team in 2023, and they messed around and got even better this winter. They now have stud pitcher Corbin Burnes atop their rotation and Craig Kimbrel locked into closer behind baseball's best set-up man, Yennier Cano.
If elite hitters Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson can take another step forward this season — or even just avoid negative regression — Baltimore will be firmly in the mix to contend for a World Series championship this October.
World Series 2024: Top values
Texas Rangers (+1400)
Newsflash: the Houston Rangers won the World Series last October, and now they sit sixth on the 2024 odds boards. Talk about value!
We understand the reservations some bettors have with Bruce Bochy's squad — the bullpen lost some firepower, injury concerns are valid, and Nathan Eovaldi as a staff ace seems suspect at best.
However, there's a flip side to that coin. This team has a moxie and feistiness about it that few other clubs in the majors exhibit and Bochy always knows how to get the best of his guys.
Philadelphia Phillies (+1500)
The Phillies almost always seem like a value at this level of the odds board. Their front office never stops working to improve the club and having core offensive players like Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto, Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos will always keep Philly in the mix. Futures odds be damned, no MLB club will want to play this team six or seven months from now.
