Who knew all the White Sox needed in order to snap their historic losing streak was a little motivation from Taylor Swift?
Tuesday night was the team's second contest of its three-game series against the Athletics. Chicago dropped the opener against Oakland to extend its lengthy losing streak to 21 games, which put the team on the verge of the longest losing streak since 1961.
That is, until the Athletics added more bad blood to the series.
Whoever is in charge of Oakland's in-stadium music has to feel a bit guilty after an attempted troll of the White Sox backfired. Before the game, Swift's hit song, "22," was heard blasting over the speakers, as a jab to Chicago potentially reaching loss No. 22 in a row that night.

Three hours later, and the humorous nudge wasn't so funny after all. White Sox starter Jonathan Cannon tossed six innings of one-run ball and outfielder Andrew Benintendi blasted a two-run homer to power the South Side squad to a 5-1 win, ending the lengthy losing streak at 21 games.

Heading into Tuesday night, the White Sox were losers of 21 in a row, 16 of which came by multiple runs. Chicago snapped that historic stretch with a 5-1 win over Oakland.
