Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is crushing baseballs, again

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will get his chance to be the everyday third baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays in due time. The 19-year-old super prospect is stewing in New Hampshire in the meantime, making life stressful for Double-A pitchers and doing horrible, cruel things to baseballs.

Last week, Guerrero Jr. hit a ball to the moon. On Monday, he went yard two more times, showing he's not short in the power department.

It actually began before the Fisher Cats took on Portland on Monday, when Guerrero Jr. got a visit from MLB Network, who watched him hit a ball over the wall off a tee, which is actually quite a lot more difficult than one would expect.

It was only portending what would come on Monday for Guerrero Jr. though, who clubbed a pair of home runs against Portland in a 10-2 thrashing, and yes, they were quite long. (The second is the one to watch, and the ball hits a hotel behind the bleachers in left field, which is approximately Very Far Away from home plate.)

This recent stretch by Guerrero Jr. certainly won't quiet the folks who think he should be in the Blue Jays major league lineup on a regular basis, and it certainly looks like the second-generation rising star is getting very close to (if he already hasn't) outgrowing Double-A pitching.

Of course, now that Josh Donaldson's shoulder isn't dead and he's back in the lineup, there's less of an immediate need for the 19-year-old. (Donaldson hit two home runs over a double-header in his first day back in Toronto's lineup, though he's gone 0-for-10 in the three games since.)
