The Dodgers won for Vin on Friday night.
It was the team's first home game since the death of iconic announcer Vin Scully. Everyone inside Dodger Stadium got to celebrate his life and 67-year career with the organization.

The club's pregame tribute reached a crescendo when manager Dave Roberts addressed the crowd. As he finished, he asked the fans to belt out one of Scully's iconic phrases to signal that the game was about to start:
"It's time for Dodger baseball!"

Scully's successor, Joe Davis, and broadcast partner Orel Hershiser delivered their own message from the booth:
It was a nod to Scully's message to fans, likewise in the form of a banner, on the day of his final broadcast in 2016: "I'll miss you."
Soon after the ceremony ended, the Dodgers jumped out to a big lead over the Padres. They went on to win 8-1 and increased their lead over San Diego in the National League West to 13.5 games.
"It was a really special moment," LA catcher Will Smith told SportsNet LA after the game. "You think of Vin Scully and you think of the Dodgers."
The Dodgers were in San Francisco for a series against the Giants when Scully died Tuesday at 94. All of baseball offered tributes to Scully in the following days.
It was LA's turn Friday, and the team made it special.
