Trevor Bauer on trade from Indians to Reds: 'I am a lot happier here than I was' image

Trevor Bauer is happy he's no longer with the Indians.

The 28-year-old was sent from Cleveland to the Reds in a three-team deal just before the July 31 trade deadline. Bauer was asked about his transition to Cincinnati during a recent interview with Fox Sports Ohio.

"It was very easy coming in," Bauer said. "Everyone did a really great job of being accommodating and making it easy for me to make the transition. The information is great here, the coaching staff is great here. Overall I am a lot happier here than I was. Sometimes you don’t realize how unhappy you are in a situation until you are out of it, because it's just kind of day-to-day life.

"I miss some of my teammates and stuff. Overall, though, I don’t really miss a whole lot about Cleveland.”

Bauer, who began his career with the Diamondbacks, was an All-Star last season and had been with the Indians since 2013, making 10 playoff appearances during his time with the team.

Bauer later clarified his comments on Twitter.

"To be clear, the 'not a whole lot I miss about Cleveland' comment was directly related to the situation I had just mentioned," Bauer wrote. "I will always hold my love for the city, the fans and most importantly the great people of Cleveland in a special place in my heart."

The right-hander has struggled since joining the Reds as he holds a 1-3 record with a 7.62 ERA in five starts. He took the mound against the Pirates on Sunday and allowed seven earned runs in just three innings of work.
