Blue Jays acquire pitcher Jason Adam from Royals image

Hoping to add depth to their bullpen, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired right-handed pitcher Jason Adam from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations.

The 26-year-old saw his first major league action in 2018 pitching 32 1/3 innings in 31 appearances for the Royals. Adam finished the season with an 0–3 record, 6.12 ERA and 37 strikeouts.

Adam will report to Blue Jays' spring training in Dunedin, Fla. He has a 1–0 in five spring training appearances with Kansas City in 2019.

A native of Overland Park, Kan., Adam was a fifth-round draft pick of the Royals in 2010.
