A frustrating season for outfielder Charlie Blackmon and the Rockies continued to curdle on Wednesday in the ninth inning against the Red Sox, when umpire Jerry Meals made a questionable strike three call.

Blackmon, leading off the frame with Colorado down three, had gone hitless in his first four plate appearances of the night. After Meals deemed a cutter high and outside to be a third strike, the left-hander turned and berated the veteran umpire.

The Rockies' broadcast picked up the full extent of his word choices, and the many expletives involved.

Blackmon did have reason to be upset. The pitch was nowhere near the zone, according to MLB.com's reading.

Manager Bud Black was also ejected after coming out to defend Blackmon.

The Rockies went on to lose 7-4.
