Mike Minor and company stopped the Yankees in their tracks Monday.

The Rangers pitching staff was so effective, they handed New York its first shut out in 220 games to break the second-longest streak in MLB history.

The Yankees' streak was only shy of a 308-game stretch by the 1931-33 Yankees' team. The last time this current team was shut out was June 30, 2018, by the Red Sox.

Minor had the help of relievers Shawn Kelley and Emmanuel Clase and got an offensive boost from Elvis Andrus, who was 3 for 5 at the plate.

Studs of the Night

Rhys Hoskins helped push the Phillies past the Reds 7-1 after he drove in three runs with two home runs.

Adam Wainwright pitched seven scoreless innings in the Cardinals' 3-1 win against the Giants.

Mets righty Noah Syndergaard struck out 10 and allowed three hits over seven shutout innings in the team's 7-3 win over the Nationals.

Duds of the Night

Jake Fraley and Tom Murphy were 0 for 4 as the Mariners had just four hits in their 5-1 loss to the Cubs.

Buck Farmer allowed two runs off two hits in 2/3 innings of work as the Tigers fell 4-3 to the Twins.

Highlights

It didn't take long for George Springer to break a tie.

This Christian Yelich home run put him at the top of the leaderboard and he joins Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger, and Pete Alonso with 43 dingers so far this season.
