St. Louis beat the odds against Cincinnati on Friday.

The Cardinals topped the Reds 12-11 at Great American Ball Park, despite trailing 7-0 entering the sixth inning. St. Louis went on to tally a staggering 10 runs in the sixth to take control of the game and it didn't look back.

Jose Martinez and Paul DeJong each notched one home run for St. Louis while the Reds' Ryan Lavarnway went 3 for 4 and tallied two home runs.

Strangely enough, Cincinnati actually outhit the Cardinals 18-12 in the contest.

The Cardinals extended their winning streak to three games and are just 2 1/2 games back from the the National League Central-leading Cubs.

Cincinnati on the other hand is 43-52 and dead last in the division. It has now lost four straight.

Studs of the Night

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3 for 5 in Toronto's 12-1 win over Detroit.

Oscar Mercado had a perfect 5-for-5 night as the Indians topped the Royals 10-5.

Duds of the Night

Starling Marte was hitless in four at-bats in the Pirates' 6-1 loss to the Phillies.

Charlie Blackmon was hitless in five at-bats as the Rockies fell to the Yankees 8-2.

Highlight

Josh Donaldson led the Braves to victory over the Nationals with this walkoff single.

What's Next?

Red Sox (53-45) at Orioles (30-66) 7:05 p.m. ET — Boston was surprisingly trounced by Baltimore 11-2 on Friday. The reigning champs will look to bounce back Saturday against one of the worst teams in the American League.
