MLB is more spread out network-wise than ever in 2023, with games being hosted on Peacock, Apple TV+, TBS, Fox and ESPN, not to mention the regional sports networks that carry the bulk of the games.

With that in mind, it can be a lot to manage when it comes to figuring out how to watch different games.

While some games require paid subscriptions to watch, others will need a paid subscription to a service. It also costs money to get access to out-of-market games through MLB.tv.

Here are the different ways you can stream games without cable, both paid and free.

When it comes to watching national games, it will depend on the network they're on. National games on cable will be on Fox, ESPN or TBS.

Fox

To watch games on Fox, use the Fox Sports app or FoxSports.com with a cable login to watch nationally televised games.

ESPN

On ESPN, users can either go to the WatchESPN app or use ESPN+, but the latter will be a paid option.

TBS

The TBS Tuesday night games can be viewed via the TBS app.

YouTube

YouTube carries an MLB Game of the Week, which is another free option to catch some nationally broadcasted games.

Paid options to watch MLB games

If you're willing to pay, naturally, the streaming world opens up.

MLB.tv is the only way to watch out-of-market games that aren't nationally televised. It costs $150 for the year, $25 per month, or $130 to follow a single team. It will also carry minor league games this year.

MLB.tv can also now be purchased through Fubo for an additional $25 per month. An important note: MLB.tv will black out local games. So a combination of services will be needed to watch every game.

Apple TV+ will be carrying games this year, and they're no longer free. Apple TV+ costs $7 per month. Peacock will have some day games on Sundays, and is $4.99 per month.

For nationally televised games, there are a few options, with some exceptions: Fubo, SlingTV, and DirecTV Stream all carry ESPN, MLB Network and FS1. YoutubeTV and Hulu + Live TV carry ESPN and FS1, but they do not carry MLB Network in 2023.
