The 2019 MLB All-Star Game will take place at Progressive Field in Cleveland on Tuesday, July 9.
It's the first time the city has hosted the midsummer classic since 1997, when the Indians were in the middle of a run to the World Series. The Indians are hopeful they can reach the postseason again in 2019, but the upstart Twins, who lead the AL Central, may stand in their way of a bid.

As usual, All-Star voting is part popularity contest, part reflection of the first half's top performers. For all of the criticism the ballots receive each year, though, the game usually presents a fairly accurate snapshot of the league.
All-Star pitchers and reserves will be announced Sunday, June 30, at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Who was the top MLB All-Star vote-getter?
Mike Trout led the voting amid a season he's pacing the AL in walks (69), on-base percentage (.461) and slugging percentage (.629). Trout's 22 home runs give him a chance to set a career-high in that category.

What were the biggest All-Star snubs?
While reserves have yet to be announced, several players might feel disappointed at not being named a starter. Josh Bell, for example, fell just short in the NL despite hitting 21 home runs and batting .310 so far this season. Hometown favorite Francisco Lindor didn't even make the cut as a finalist for starting AL shortstop.
Both of those guys will still likely make the final rosters given their first-half play.
We'll update this post with more snubs once the final rosters are decided.
How did voting work for the 2019 MLB All-Star Game?
A preliminary round of fan voting established three starting options at each position in the field, and an "Election Day" period on June 26 and 27 determined the official starters. Cora and Roberts will determine the starting pitcher for each squad, and Roberts will select the DH for the NL.
