The Mets head to Cincinnati to battle the upstart Reds and kick off Apple TV's second 'Friday Night Baseball' doubleheader of the 2024 MLB season.

The Reds are off to a strong start on the young season, winning each of their first two series of the season, both against NL East opponents in the Nationals and Phillies. In a 4-1 win in Philadelphia on Wednesday, right-hander Frankie Montas continued his resurgence with another solid outing; his ERA sits at 0.77 through two starts.

The young core is led by the likes of infielder Elly De La Crruz and outfielder Spencer Steer, with the latter off to a blazing start with a .435 average and 1.219 OPS through the first six games.

The Mets, meanwhile, have endured a tumultuous start to the year, including an 0 - 4 start. With the likes of Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo, and Francisco Lindor, New York has plenty of talent in its lineup, but that has yet to correlate: The Mets scored one run or less in three of their first four games.

Cincinnati took four of six games from New York last season, winning the season series between the two sides for the first time since 2013.

Here is everything that you need to know as the Mets and Reds begin their three-game series with an Apple TV+ showdown on Friday night.
