Mets mistakenly announce two living 1969 players as dead image

The Mets honored the 50th anniversary of the 1969 World Series champion team with a series of events, including an emotional tribute that played during Saturday's game to remember the players that have died.

The only problem is the Mets included Jim Gosger, 76, and Jesse Hudson, 70, in the video, but the two are still alive.

“WE REMEMBER” was displayed on a large videoboard next to rotating names and photos, which also included Gosger and Hudson.

Once the Mets realized their mistake, they apologized to Gosger, though it's not yet clear if they made contact with Hudson.

“I just received a call from the N.Y. Mets,” Gosger  said . “They apologize for the mistake (Saturday). I guess a couple of my friends got through to their office.”

The mistake made its rounds on social media as Gosger responded to the blunder.
